In anticipation for some more extensive foodie adventures this weekend, I’ll keep this post short and sweet. I just wanted to share this morning’s smoothie recipe – it’s extremely simple, healthy, and ridiculously easy to make. It literally took me five minutes to make – you can’t beat that!
Here’s what you need:
- Six large strawberries, quartered with leaves removed (if you can freeze these first, it helps!)
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/4 of a large peach, diced
- 1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt
- 1/8 skim milk or light vanilla soy milk
Now, here’s the really tricky part. You throw this all in a blender and hit “ON.” Intense, right? I can’t believe I survived the process.
This smoothie is SO yummy and full of protein, healthy sugars to boost your morning energy, fiber, and vitamins. It’s really tangy and tart, which I love, but if you want it a bit sweeter just throw in a bit of honey or agave nectar, and you’re all set. Come to think of it, throw in some whey powder, protein powder, whatever gets you going in the morning
Nutritional breakdown is below. Enjoy, and happy weekend to all!
